Maryann is admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer.

She has been involved in numerous major transactions, including, restructuring of listed companies, turnkey supply and construction agreements, public private partnerships preparation and filing of applications to the Department of Minerals and Energy in South Africa; turnkey mining contracts, advisor to Eskom on tenders and agreements for the Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme; registered first new order mining right under the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act; advisor to First Uranium on listing on TSX; author of numerous concentrate supply agreements, toll treatment agreements; beneficiation joint ventures.
    
She specialises in commercial law, commercial property law, pension law and retirement funding, construction and engineering contracts, mining and minerals law, law of beneficiation, and administrative law.

Maryann is a member of the Corporate Governance Forum, the Pension Lawyers Association and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries in South Africa.

She has authored numerous articles and is a sought after speaker at conferences.

Maryann has been selected as being among the world's leading mining lawyers in 2009 by The International Who's Who of Mining Lawyers 2009.
