Brian heads up the firm’s transport sector. He has more than 28 years' experience in corporate, commercial and general litigation and dispute resolution and practises as the leader of a fully integrated leveraged team with the requisite skills sets. In addition Brian has experience in the area of sports law, where he has acted for a number of high profile South African sporting personalities, coaches and players’ agents.

He represents corporate clients, such as Transnet Limited, Libstar Holdings, the Primedia Sport Group, the Bosasa Group, Rand Merchant Bank and Apco Worldwide Limited.

Brian has extensive experience in relation to shareholder disputes, directors' disputes, corporate governance issues, issues of corporate mismanagement/fraud, all aspects of contractual matters particularly in relation to disputes pertaining thereto, administrative reviews, all aspects of the construction/engineering industry and sports law.

His recent experience includes:

• Acting for a party alleged to be part of an international Ponzi scheme. He successfully obtained the discharge of a worldwide freezing order granted by the London Commercial Court against the client. He is involved in various other applications in South Africa which are pending. Further applications in various international jurisdictions are anticipated.

• Advising Transnet in relation to various aspects of the procurement and construction of the multi-purpose petroleum pipeline under construction between Durban and Johannesburg.

• Acting for Telkom SA in an application for access to information proceedings related to an international arbitration in which he is acting for a former subsidiary of Telkom.
