Jurg heads up the firm’s energy sector. He has extensive experience in the construction and engineering field, both in litigious and commercial matters.

As a fellow of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa), Jurg has experience in a wide variety of alternative dispute resolution procedures, including International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitrations.

His recent experience includes:

  • Advising employers, contractors, suppliers and professionals in the construction field on a wide variety of contracts including NEC2, NEC3, FIDIC, JBCC and bespoke contracts.
  • Representing parties to construction contracts in a wide range of disputes, including litigation, mediation, adjudication and arbitration.
His specific experience in the energy field includes an appointment as external legal advisor by the South African power utility on a new-build hydro power plant, on two renewable energy projects, a CSP and a wind project. These projects are being executed on the FIDIC Harmonised MDB documents.
