Acquisition of prospecting rights and listing on JSE
In October 2005, Eversheds advised and assisted client with the acquisition of the Elandsfontein prospecting rights from Anglo Platinum and subsequently were the legal advisers in the floatation and listing of Eland Platinum Holdings Limited on the JSE in March 2006 where an amount of approximately ZAR5.375 billion was raised for the development of the Elandsfontein Platinum Mine.
Listing on Toronto Stock Exchange
In late 2006 Eversheds was the South African legal advisor to the First Uranium Corporation on its listing of the Toronto Stock Exchange. The capital raised in the listing amount to Canadian $203 million.
