Property and real estate

Today’s challenges

South Africa is one of the fastest developing countries in Africa. One consequence of this growth is an extraordinary increase in the number of property related transactions.

All land and ownership of land in South Africa is recorded or registered by the Registrar of Deeds in terms of statute which ensures certain title to land. It is widely accepted that our system of registration is one of the best in the world.

Only admitted conveyancers, and to a lesser degree notaries public, may prepare and lodge documents for registration by the Registrar of Deeds. Due to the complex nature of the legislation and the myriad of possible property related transactions and required registrations, only a firm with a large and diverse property and real estate practice can provide an all encompassing service to clients.
